Trarrk, a technology company advancing developmental progress tracking and management for children with special needs, has announced the appointment of Sharon Truman to its Advisory Board, where she will support business development and strategic growth initiatives, with a focus on expanding impact across emerging and global markets.
Sharon Truman brings international experience spanning healthcare, pharmaceuticals, technology, and social impact innovation. She began her professional journey as a nurse at University Hospital Cardiff, Wales, gaining paediatric experience before transitioning into the pharmaceutical industry. She spent the majority of her corporate career with Merck, progressing into executive business development roles focused on partnerships, market expansion, and commercial strategy.
In 2012, Truman transitioned into social entrepreneurship, helping to secure investment from Portugal Ventures, which led to involvement in the Silicon Valley technology ecosystem. Since then, her work has focused on building, advising, and scaling technology-enabled solutions addressing social and developmental challenges.
She is a co-founder of Unify Giving, a global donations platform supporting disadvantaged communities, as well as Unify Giving India. Her experience also includes leadership and advisory roles in education technology platforms for children and technology ventures such as goParkly and Geta, where she has contributed to product strategy, partnerships, and growth. She has remained connected to healthcare innovation through digital ventures including Kaenect and Logifect.
As an advisor to Trarrk, Sharon will contribute to strategic partnerships, ecosystem engagement, and market expansion, supporting the company’s mission to improve access to tools that support special needs children’s improvement, learning, and developmental progression, particularly in underserved and emerging regions.
The appointment aligns with Trarrk’s broader strategy to strengthen its advisory capacity as it scales solutions across Africa and other global markets, working with educators, parents, therapists, caregivers, and institutions to drive inclusive, technology-enabled support for children with special needs.
