Earlier today the Governor of Anambra State hosted an expanded Committee meeting on cattle menace in his country home in Aguleri.
This meeting had in attendance the head of Security Agencies in the State, The traditional rulers and stakeholders affected by the farmers/headers clash, he at this meeting issued a deadline for the Police Commissioner to produce a comprehensive data of all the herdsmen operating in the state as part of steps to mitigate the incessant farmers/herders clash in some parts of the state.
The Governor Further reiterated the ban on open grazing around the state, He said the backlog of money owed to people who suffered losses should also be cleared by those involved, Farmers who suffered losses should be paid 12 million Naira while herders whose cows were killed should be paid 6 million Naira and 3 million should be paid as compensation for the dead, he said all should be settled within one week.
