Let’s raise a toast to Mrs. Nonye Soludo on her 54th birthday!

Today, Ndi Anambra is celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Nonye Soludo, the wife of the governor who has chosen not to be referred to as the Anambra First Lady. Unlike her predecessors and colleagues, she doesn’t operate from the traditional First Lady’s office. Additionally, she doesn’t have a routine official convoy and appointees, as seen in the past, and currently, in other states —she drives her husband’s personal car. She prefers to focus on making a difference in quieter, more meaningful ways.

Cheers, dear mother, for your remarkable compassion and empathy have redefined the role of a governor’s wife, demonstrating that it extends far beyond mere adornments and regal appearances. Your focus is on actively engaging in initiatives to enhance the well-being of our people. Your tireless efforts to build a brighter future for our children serve as a beacon of inspiration for us all.

At this juncture, it is important to appreciate the profound level of commitment the wife of “Mr. Project” has shown as she eloquently represents her husband, her children, and our state. Her resolute determination, life in Christ, and grace are the driving force behind Soludo’s administration’s vision to eradicate poverty and foster a healthier living environment in Anambra.

Her ideal birthday celebration would involve her routine morning Healthy Living Walk with Ndi Anambra, spending time in private with the less privileged at selected orphanage homes and visiting sick people at hospitals. She would attend Mass to express her gratitude and thanksgiving for the gift of a new life. Mama Anambra is concerned more with the needs and wishes of others. She has shown my family compassion and empathy, and it’s hard to find the right words to describe and appreciate her at 54. Her strength, understanding, resilience, love, and selflessness are inspiring, and I join many others in wishing her many more birthdays.

Happy 54th birthday, Ma!”
