It was a moment of joy and jubilations for Ndi Nawfia Community today 19th march 2022 as they coronated their new traditional ruler, Igwe Daniel Obele.
Igwe Obele who goes by the sobriquet “Ezeudo 1 of Nawfia N’ Umunri was coronated at Nawfia Town Hall, Njikoka Council Area.
The coronation was attended by indegenes of the community from the ten quarters of the community.
It was also attended by notable traditional rulers in the state including representatives from Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha as well as Ndi Ichie, Ndi Nze na Ozo, Umuada and Ndi Iyom.
The ceremony kickstarted with the royal appearance of the traditional ruler, Igwe Obele with his wife, Lady Florence Obele.
They danced around to the tune of Igba Eze and cheers from their guest followed by breaking of kolanut.
Performing the coronation, the oldest man in the community, Chief Joel Okeke said its with joy and happiness that they coronate and receive their traditional ruler whom they believe that his reign will attract peace, development and progress to the community.
Chief Okeke noted that Igwe Obele has the wherewithal to lead them to the promised land without fear or favour calling on Ndi Nawfia to give him their support.
In his address of welcome, the new traditional ruler, Igwe Obele promised to work assiduously to restore the honor, reverence, respect, dignity, cultural values and norms that his stool commands in order to project Nawfia community noting that his primary task is to inspire, mobilize, galvanize and unite all Nawfia people for advancement of the community.
The Chairman Nawfia Board Of Trustees, Chief Goddy Chiadikaobi on behalf of the board thanked God for the gift of Igwe Obelle stating that as a board they have the right to direct the affairs of the community and when things went wrong, they took decisions
and sought God for new traditional ruler of which he has blessed them with one.
