The Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) might disqualify the ruling party in Anambra State from contesting in the forth coming Gubernatorial Election in the state.
This was made known by the national publicity secretary of the Okeke led faction of the party Mr Ikechukwu Chukwunyere while he was speaking with news men in Abuja on the recent development in the party.
While Speaking the Faction accused the Victor Oye led Faction of failing to of failing to officially notify INEC with the 21 days notice on the special ward congress which gives rise to the delegate list for the Governorship Primaries which is clearly stated in section 85 of the electoral act.
This news came with a confirmation contained in a letter which the Commission has duly served the Okeke led faction and in a response to an Enquiry made by Omas and Partners who had earlier sort for information on this matter from the Commission and INEC duly responded as it is bound to do by the freedom of information act.
He said that if the Oye led Faction of the party goes ahead with the scheduled June 23rd Primaries without satisfying the requirements of the law it will leed to the party not being able to produce a candidate for the November 6th election in the state.
