The members of Oba Maduka Arubaluezeama family of Agukwu Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State, have made a Save Our Soul (SOS) call to the Governor of the State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo following violent attack being meted on the people Agukwu Nri upon which a member of the family by name Sunday Alike was butchered with axe by suspected cultists
Speaking to our reporter, a member of the family said that Alike was attacked by suspected cultists who were trailing Arubalaluezeama for some time alleging that the life of Arubaluezeama has been in danger following intelligent report that criminals are on his radar with the intention to kill him which promoted him to employ the services of security agents for adequate protection.
According to him, the criminals eventually struck and attacked Arubaluezeama last Sunday by 9pm when he came home for the burial of his brother in law without his security details but he escaped by whiskers. However his brother Sunday Alike was so unlucky to fall victim of the attackers who used axe and matches to butcher him inflicting wounds all over his body.
He said that the Sunday attack was one among many of such which suspected cultists have been carrying out in the community since 2017 without any efforts from any quarters to deal with them adding that the efforts to draw the attention of the people in the appropriate quarters has consistently met a brick wall.
He added “actually we are in siege because the attack in our community by criminals who brandish dangerous weapon to attack people have been going on since 5years but nothing is being done to address it. The other time they invaded the meeting of the elders (Nze na Ozo) and robbed them at gun point taking away their money, their phones and their hand bags. So many people have been their victims at the different points and locations during burials, weddings and so on”
He repeatedly called on Governor Soludo to as master of urgency wade into violent activities of criminals going on at Agukwu Nri to deal with the suspects and restore peace in the land so that the people can queue into the bandwagon of a Liveable and Prosperous Homeland
