Information reaching us has it that Anambra State Railway Master Plan has been released, earlier in the year this railway project caused a frenzy throughout the country as the Governor Prof. Charles Soludo mentioned that it will take demolition of 6000 buildings to achieve the railway Master Plan.
The information we have about the Master plan are as follows;
THIS IS THE ANAMBRA RAIL MASTER PLAN
From the Anambra rail master plan I am seeing black and blue rail lines, the black rail line commences from Head-bridge Onitsha via express road to Awka, the black rail line also connects to Ihiala via Onitsha/Owerri road, then the blue rail line starts from Onitsha and connects to Nkpor-Obosi-Umuoji road to Nnobi, then from Afor Nnobi it links up to Nnewi, also from Afor Nnobi it connects to Awka-Etiti-Igbo-ukwu to Ekwulobia then from Ekwulobia to Nanka-Ndiowu-Ndiagu which will then connect to the black rail line in Awka, this is the master plan which will be implemented in stages, this is a massive and capital-intensive project, Governor Soludo is determined to achieve this, and successive administrations will build upon his progress.
From the master plan there’re also provision to connect Omambala area from Onitsha via Nkwelle-Umueri-Onitsha road, the blue rail line will also connect to Ndikelionwu to the industrial city in Ogboji in Orumba
