The Anambra State Government awarded the contract for conversation of 22 schools to be converted to smart schools on the 4th of December 2024 and they are to serve as pilot smart schools across the 21 L.G.A.’s of the state, the Anambra Smart School Project is Termed SMART LEARN ANAMBRA.
The comprehensive initiative encompasses several transformative components:
Infrastructure Enhancement: Installation of solar power systems to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, modern Android TV screens, reliable internet connectivity, and e-learning tools in classrooms.
Provision of Learning Devices: Provision of tablets and other devices for educators and students to facilitate interactive and digital learning experiences.
Specialized Laboratories: Establishment of dedicated STEM and computer laboratories equipped for hands-on, practical learning experiences.
School Upgrades and Renovations: Comprehensive renovation and modernization of school facilities to create conducive and contemporary learning environments.
Enhanced ICT Curriculum: Revamping the ICT curriculum to incorporate current technological trends and ensure students are well-prepared for the digital age.
Digital Management Systems: Implementation of sophisticated digital school management systems for streamlined record-keeping and data analysis.
Security Measures: Deployment of enhanced security measures, including CCTV surveillance and trained security personnel, to safeguard school environments.
Aesthetic Improvements: Beautification projects aimed at creating cleaner, more inspiring learning environments.

The above listed schools are currently undergoing various degrees of construction in preparedness for installation of smart teaching and learning equipments
On the other hand the state government is currently training teachers who will impact knowledge in the various smart schools because without smart teachers there wouldn’t be any smart schools, the training is handled by Anambra State ICT Agency in collaboration with EDVES, this training is termed TRAIN THE TRAINER
This project is currently in its infrastructure and training state as buildings are being put in shape and teachers are trained and this is some degree of progress and it will continue hopefully to its logical and successful completion.
