The clean up of Okpoko in Onitsha Metropolis has advanced to the desilting of sacamory drainage.
The Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim, on Tuesday, April 12th, 2022 Inspected the ongoing desilting of Sacamory drainage in Okpoko, Ogbaru Local Government Area.
Mr Deputy Governor, met on ground the technical team from the state government led by the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr Emeka Okoma.
Dr Ibezim observed the progress of work at the drainage which has been blocked for years, causing flooding and untold hardship to the inhabitants of Okpoko and East Niger layout, Ogbaru Local Council Area.
This drainage clean up is part of the plan is making the area a more habitable place and changing the tag placed on the area as the worst urban slums in the country.
