ANAMBRA LG ELECTIONS WILL BE A TEST OF GRASSROOT APPEAL

Since the announcement of the September 28th date for the conduct of the ANSIEC Election, preparations have been in top gear from various political parties. Aspirants have emerged with stakeholders consultation taking place across the State. The political atmosphere at the grassroots is vibrant and the end product will predictably be a consensus for the Party most in touch with the people.
It is not unusual to see political parties lying in oblivion attempting to test their grip or find rudderless individuals hopping unto every and any party for the sole purpose of winning elections without any affinity or touch with the people. For whatever it is worth, the democratic process is an interesting one and the people must choose and decide who leads them.
While others are permitted to try, I am almost certain that the feelers are right for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) to win the day. There is no greater time than now for the party to sweep all 21 LGAs and 326 wards, as the State Government under the leadership of Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has made huge investments across all sectors that directly impact on the lives of the people.
Like my friend in an opposition party from Awka asked in a WhatsApp group, “what will I tell my Mother who lives in the once flood ravaged Umuogbu to convince her not to vote for APGA?” This is the confusion of all opposition parties. The next will be to find them clutching on straws. In all, the people will decide.
