The Flag bearer of All Progressive Congress APC in the forthcoming Governorship Election in Anambra State Sen. Andy Uba escaped death by whiskers after a police officer accidentally fired a shot around him.
This event took place at the Ekwulobia Township Stadium when Senator Uba was addressing his supporters in a rally on Friday 3rd September 2021, the police officer was said to be drunk and was oozy of alcohol when this accidental discharge happened.
A retired deputy inspector general of police who was present at the event said he will take up the matter to ensure that the police officer who was involved in the said situation will face disciplinary actions, in his words he said
This was a case of accidental discharge as this did not put the senator under any form of threat, nothing whatsoever happened here to warrant the police officer to release a shot.
The rally continued after normalcy was restored and the Guber Candidate continued his talk with his supporters who were present at the event.
