ACTDA Begins Demolition of Illegal structures Obstructing road construction

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) Mr Ossy Onuko has reiterated his resolve and commitment towards transforming Awka Capital Territory to a Mega City.
The ACTDA Helmsman said this today at Unizik temporary Site road Awka, during the demolition of illegal structures standing in the way of achieving a standard road befitting a State Capital.
Mr Onuko said this has become necessary because those buildings are delaying the pace of developing the road.
While Speaking to Newsmen The Chief of Staff to the State Government,Mr Ernest Ezeajughi who appreciated the efforts of ACTDA Boss in ensuring smooth Construction of a dual carriage road also noted that the construction of the dual carriage road will open up the city, adding that at the completion of the road project, residents within Awka Capital Territory and Ndi Anambra will appreciate the State Government.
In reaction, Miss Chinwendu Orji, a petty trader at Unizik junction said it is a welcome development, adding that several have been served several vacation notices by the Authority.
From the design of the road construction which is being undertaken by Nigercat Construction Company, it will be a dual carriage way from Unizik Junction stretching to The front of the palace of Igwe Okpuno and the structures being demolished are an obstruction to this project and do no have required building approval from government
