Governor Chukwuma Soludo has presented the revised 2022 Appropriation Act and 2022 Fiscal Framework before Anambra State House of Assembly.
The Bill raised the deficit in the state Government’s budget from 141.9 Billion Naira to 170 Billion Naira.
Sixty four percent of the revised budget is for capital expenditure compared to the previous budget.
Professor Soludo explained that the revision became imperative to suit the current realities.
The Governor revealed that sixty percent is targeted at delivering infrastructure to ndi Anambra, with about thirty one percent for the Ministry of Works and reeled out other contents of the draft to include building of a befitting Government House and Governor’s Lodge, Anambra Airport, Digitalization of the Ministry of finance, clearing of pension arears, payment of counterpart development funds, among others.
While pledging that the state Legislature as an arm of government will join hands with the Executive arm to ensure that the Soludo-led government succeeds, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Uche Okafor expressed optimism that the contents of the revised draft Budget are structured in tandem with his desire to run quality government where people’s welfare and total development of the state are guaranteed.
