There was jubilation in Ikenga community in Aguata local government on Saturday, October 28, 2023 as Mmanegbuego Foundation flagged off its empowerment program touching about twenty members of the community.
The founder of Mmanegbuego Foundation, Prince Dr. Sunday Patrick Dim while handing over Motorcycles, grinding machines, sewing and cash awards to selected members of the community emphasized that this was legacy he received from his late father who told him that he should always do whatever within him to help his people especially those who has little or no means of daily income.
He called on other members of Ikenga who have been blessed by Almighty God to join hand with him so that they can as well replicate in the community the agenda of Anambra state governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo who recently empowered 5000 Anambra Youths with N2Billion Naira startup fund.
He equally used the opportunity to appreciate Governor Soludo for remembering Ikenga, a community that doesn’t have any motorable road leading it but now has many quality tarred road connecting the community to the state capital.
While handing over the motorcycles and other items to the beneficiaries, he promised to double the number of beneficiaries hopefully by next year.
The member representing Ogbaru 1 and his counterpart representing Aguata 2 at Anambra State House of Assembly Rt Hon Noble Igwe and Hon Anthony Muobike in their separate remarks commend Mmanegbuego Foundation for this wonderful feat and called on members of the community to support the efforts of Governor Soludo in youth empowerment and infrastructural development in the area.
Anambra State Head of Procurement, Hon Okey Ezeobi who represented Mr governor at the event called on the beneficiaries and members of the community to take responsibility whatever individual or government is putting in place in the community.
He said that one thing is for government to site a project in a community but it is utterly the responsibility of the members of the community to ensure quality work is done and that the facility is protected from vandalisation.
Four members of the community received brand new motorcycles while another three received new grinding machines and another three taylors received brand new sewing machines. Others received cash grants to support their businesses.
