In keeping with Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s promise to provide good access roads in Anambra State, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) recently approved the immediate rehabilitation and reconstruction of four roads in Onitsha, ANAMBRA PEOPLE reports.
This was disclosed by Sir Paul Nwosu, Commissioner for Information in a post ANSEC media briefing.
The roads include; Akpaka road, Akpaka to Nsugbe road, Federal Housing Estate link road and the spur to 33.
The four roads which are 7.79 kilometers in length will be handled by TEC Engineering Company Nigeria Limited at the cost of N2.53 billion and will be completed within 8 months.
Upon completion, the roads will eliminate the nightmarish traffic jams that commuters experience in that part of the city.
The Governor has also flagged of the reconstruction of the Mmili John Section of The Ojoto Oba Link Road, this reconstruction includes the dredging of the water body Mmili John itself and will be completed in 6 weeks, this reconstruction will be done by Alitho Nigeria Limited.
The Chairperson of Idemili South LGA Hon. Mrs Amaka Obi in her speech thanked the Governor for this stride in bringing succour to the people of Idemili South as the failed portion of this road has become a security threat due to its lonely nature, Criminals prey on road users at this failed portion and perpetrate different forms of criminality.
