Awka the capital of Anambra State was shutdown despite the heavy downpour which seemed as if it was going to distort the official flag off of the campaign of the flag bearer of the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA in the forthcoming Governorship Election in Anambra which held at the Alex Ekwueme Square Awka.
Party supports and members defied the weather to show support and solidarity to the former apex bank chief who is set to run for the number one office in the state, this event also gave the chance for the flag bearer Prof. Charles Soludo to unveil his manifesto which he tagged ” A PEOPLE’S MANIFESTO”
The Former apex bank chief while doing his presentation made a bold statement that his administration will produce a thousand youth millionaires yearly and provide 130,000 direct and indirect jobs in Anambra by creating an enabling environment for business to thrive in the state, he also went further to say that the people should hold him accountable if he fails to keep to what is in his manifesto, while speaking he was flanked by his running mate Dr Sir Onyeka Ibezim.
The Governor of Anambra who was present at the event while speaking said that the Party’s candidate will consolidate on his achievements and even do far better than what he has done for Ndi Anambra, also present at the were the Wife of the Governor Mrs Ebele Obiano, The Speaker do the Anambra State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Uche Okafor, The National Chairman of the Party Chief Victor Oye, The Party’s Former National Chairman Sen. Victor Umeh, Party Secretary and Former Minister for Information Mr Labaran Maku and many more Political heavy weights.
This event also witnessed the decamping of many faithfuls of the All Progressive Congress APC to the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA and they were warmly received by the party’s chairman and they went ahead to burn the broom the symbol of APC which signifies their entire rejection of their former party.
The event had a fun part as the crowd were entertainment by a couple of artist and actors which included Flavour, Mr Real , Zubby Micheal and Yul Edochie, Former Anambra State House of Assembly Member, Actor and Musician Anthony ” Tony One Week” Muonagor who was the MC of the event kept the crowd in high spirit until the close of the event.
